ANOTHER season at Ruthin Town produced yet another healthy tally of goals for the talismanic Llyr Morris in the JD Cymru North in 2019/20.
As the season came to an abrupt end due to the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, the club finished ninth in a 16-league tier two and Morris once again played a huge role in helping them achieve that.
The attacker, who twice finished top scorer in tier two over the last few seasons, added another 13 to his tally in just 22 matches for Ruthin last season and was again a game-changer in many a game along the way.
Despite being just 25 years old, Morris is by now considered to be one of his hometown club Ruthin Town’s greatest ever goal scorers. The talented forward joined the club at the age of 11 and worked his way towards the first team before becoming their top goalscorer in several seasons.
His performances in tier two caught the eye of Cymru Premier side Bala Town who swooped in to sign him last summer, giving him opportunities to play in the top-flight and the UEFA Europa League with Colin Caton’s side.
Morris is a player who belongs at the highest level. He’s a very talented and naturally gifted forward who still has so much more to give to North Wales football (and Welsh football in general now being in the top-flight!) in seasons to come.
