LLANERCHYMEDD were crowned the first-ever North Wales Coast West Division One champions with a 1-1 draw at Talysarn Celts on May 4.
Meirion Grieves’ talented side won the league title with one match to spare after what was a fantastic season for the club.
Full-back Ben Hughes was one of those who received high praises from many along the way this season and deservedly so.

At 17 years old, Hughes was one of the younger members of Medd’s title-winning side but that didn’t stop him from standing out.
In the past, he has had stints with Colwyn Bay, Bangor City and even Swansea City academies before landing at Caernarfon Town Academy.
At Medd, he started the 21/22 campaign off with a bang scoring the only goal in a huge 1-0 away win over Cemaes Bay on the opening day of the season.
Since then, as well as being part of the league’s best defence, he has fired in 3 more goals in the league, as well as 3 assists and made 24 league appearances as Medd were crowned champions.
He made 32 appearances in total, including in the league cup final where Medd lost out 2-1 to Bethesda Athletic.
A seriously talented player with a great engine and drive, there’s a bright future ahead for Hughes in the game I’m sure.
