BONTNEWYDD’S management team have well and truly put their faith in the youngsters this season and that’s been great to see.
In their final league match of the season, a 2-1 defeat at Cefni, 10 of the 15 players in their squad were aged 20 or under.
In the match previous to that one, an impressive 7-0 win at Y Fali, 10 of their starting 11 were teenagers, including all their goalscorers on the day.
The hat-trick hero in that match was full-back Cai Rhun Jones who has been superb throughout this season for Bont.

So many of the club’s top young talents have shone through this season, and 17-year-old Jones is among the very best of those.
He’s held in high regard by manager Simon Jones and it’s not hard to see why.
He’s played in 30 matches in all competitions for Bont this season, scoring 7 goals – including two during the club’s impressive FAW Amateur Trophy run, netting against higher league opponents Mynydd Llandegai and Nantlle Vale.
Cai Rhun is an energetic player who plays in the modern up-and-down the wing style you’d expect from a full-back, great at defending and attacking, and certainly looks like being one to keep an eye on.
