LLANYSTUMDWY have been something of a surprise package in North Wales Coast West Division One so far in 21/22.
Of course, having the league’s leading goalscorer, the club’s player-manager Sion Parry (32 goals), in their ranks has certainly boosted them on their way to being 7th in the tier 5 table.
However, it’s fair to say that there are several other players in the squad who deserve real credit for their efforts.
One of those is the evergreen Godfrey.

The powerful attacking midfielder/forward enjoyed a fine season with the club back in the 2019/20 season, racking up 10 goals in the Gwynedd League.
And he’s been an important player for the club in their first campaign playing in the inaugural NWCW Division One too.
35-year-old Godfrey has so far racked up 9 goals and 4 assists in just 15 matches in all competitions. That certainly shows both his prowess in front of goal and his ability to turn playmaker for his teammates when needed as well.
He’s a player who has been so pivotal for Llanystumdwy over the years, even for the club’s Reserves side as far back as 2009. That year, he netted a goal in the club’s 3-2 Moorings Cup final win over Machno United at Llanrug.
