AFE’s Stars of 2021: Jac Pearce Jones (Talysarn Celts)

I’VE SPOKEN to many people about who they think should feature in this special list of players by now and this man’s name has cropped up quite a few times.

And it’s certainly not hard to see why as Jones has been highly influential for title-chasing Talysarn Celts in North Wales Coast West Division One.

The Celts skipper is a long-serving player of the club and has previously shown time and time again just how good he is in the now-defunct Gwynedd League with the side. He was that league’s Player of the Season back in 2015/16.

So it is no surprise that he has now proven to be one of the best players in the newly-formed tier five league so far as the Celts go in search of title glory this season.

Mike Williams and Darren Usher’s side have won 10 of their opening 15 matches this season and have they also have the second-best defence after Llanerchymedd (10), having shipped just 19 goals.

In the attacking department, 28-year-old Jones has proven to be one of their most consistent scorers to date and has been a real big game player too.

The midfielder has scored 16 goals in just 19 matches this season and has shown great calmness from the penalty spot too, converting 6 spot kicks for his side so far.

Jones has put in several standout performances for the Celts so far but his most impressive was probably when he scored a hat-trick in a stunning 9-2 win over Caergybi in the NWCFA Junior Cup.

That helped his side on their way to the quarter finals of that prestigious tournament, where they will face Llanerchymedd on February 12, 2022.

A goal Jones scored in a 3-1 league win over fellow title-chasers Medd could also prove to be key come the end of the season.

He’s a man for the big occasion and a player who many clubs admire and with good reason. Keep up the great work Jac!
