AFE’s Stars of 2021: Matt Reynolds (Cemaes Bay)

ANOTHER player who’s been in absolutely unstoppable form for his side this season.

Reynolds began the 21/22 campaign at Aberffraw in the North Wales Coast West Premier. However, after scoring 2 times in their opening 3 matches, he switched over to Division One club Cemaes Bay.

That has proven to be a fantastic move for both player and the club as they target title success this season.

Cemaes Bay were crowned the last ever champions of the Anglesey League during a season cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019/20.

And they’ll surely be up the top of the table come the end of the inaugural North Wales Coast West Division One season too.

After a somewhat difficult start to the 21/22 campaign, Cemaes have been flying of late and Darren Thomas’ side currently sit 3rd in the tier five table.

Reynolds has been a huge cog in the wheel of the club, notching a brilliant 18 goals in just 13 league matches to date and a further 3 cup goals.

A move from the midfield to a more attacking role has seen him become a very consistent goalscorer.

The 31-year-old, who won the Anglesey League with Bryngwran Bulls in 2018/19, has also added great experience to this Cemaes side and will no doubt continue to be an important player for them as the season goes on.
