A MOVE which should undoubtedly prove to be one of the signings of the summer if everything goes to plan.

Caergybi manager Dale Moffat has been busy adding even more quality to his already very talented side who will compete in North Wales Coast West Division One (tier five) in the 21/22 season.

One of those players who has signed on at Millbank is Mike Edwards.

The highly-talented midfielder, who was previously also a full-back, caught the eye whilst with Holyhead Hotspur Reserves in the Anglesey League last season. The 31-year-old was one of the more experienced players in a very youthful but quality side which finished third in the division.

He’s a player who made running the middle of the park effortless and was one of the best midfielders in the league, popping up with eight goals along the way.

A former Tranmere Rovers youth players, Edwards has previously been an influential figure with the likes of Holyhead Town and Hotspur’s first team over the years. With the latter, he was part of an unforgettable side which won a treble back in 2011/12.

Now ‘Eddie’ as he’s known is moving onto another Holyhead-based side club who certainly seem to be doing things the right way.

Since forming in 2017, the club has won the Megan Cup, Dargie Cup, Lucas Oil Cup and promotion to the Gwynedd League before the leagues were restructured last year.

Having the likes of Edwards in their ranks will only boost them onto even bigger and better things I’m sure.
