STICKING with the Ynys Môn Women’s team theme tonight as I bring you the latest edition of this series with two very talented footballing sisters based on Anglesey.
Paige Williams and Lexi Crawley (who were both Musgrave before they married their respective husbands), are very familiar names within the women’s game in North Wales.
That is because they have both played for some of the best women’s clubs in the region including Bangor City, Caernarfon Town and Amlwch Town – where they both play these days.
The pair have been part of the Ynys Môn side on a number of occasions together and were also part of that famous side which secured silver medals on home soil at the Inter Island Games football tournament in 2019.
Paige (below), who can play both as a full back and as a winger, is a highly-reliable player for Amlwch and consistently puts in brilliant performances.

During the 2019/20 campaign, the 25-year-old popped up with a number of goals as Town enjoyed a phenomenal season and secured the North Wales Women’s League Division Two title.
She’s a seriously underrated player who never stops working hard for her side.
Elder sister Lexi, who also played for Wrexham once upon a time, was arguably Amlwch’s most important player last season.
The super-talented forward (below) entered that campaign fresh off the back of having been the Women’s Inter Island Games football tournament’s top scorer with five goals.

That sort of form stood Lexi in good stead to enjoy another fine campaign with Amlwch Town Ladies and she did just that, finishing as one of the top scorers for the club in Division Two – finding the back of the net 16 times in the league and 20 times in all competitions.
That haul of goals helped Amlwch on to being crowned champions ahead of a league re-structure for the Women’s Leagues when the next season can begin safely.
These super sisters will no doubt prove to be a vital component for Amlwch once more when football does return, as the club will take part in the brand-new Premier Division alongside Airbus UK Broughton, Bethel, Connah’s Quay, Llanfair United, Llandudno and Rhyl 1879.
