IN WHAT is undoubtedly one of the biggest transfer coups made recently on the North Wales football scene, Llangefni Town FC have today announced the signing of Bangor 1876 wonder-kid Dylan Summers-Jones.
The 18-year-old attacker burst onto the scene with the formidable Gwynedd League champions last season, scoring a ridiculous 41 goals as the club enjoyed an incredible debut season.
That sort of form saw the former Llangefni juniors player pick up the 1876 Supporters Player of the Season prize to cap off a truly brilliant season for DSJ.
Recently, during my Stars of the 2019/20 Season series, I backed him to go all the way to the very top and he’s now making the move Llangefni Town, who currently play in the JD Cymru North (tier two).
Town manager Chris Roberts says he’s ‘delighted’ to get the deal for Summers-Jones done.
He said: “Dyl is a player I have been after for the last couple of seasons now and is a player I rate highly. He has shown what a talent he is and is a real goal threat. He will fit in perfectly to the way we want to play. I think it’s a good move for Dylan to continue in his development and I will ensure we get the best out of him every week. Welcome to The Town Dyl.”
Bangor 1876 chairman Dafydd Hughes added: “Dylan Summers-Jones has left the Club following an approach by Llangefni Town.
“Dylan had an excellent first season for us and it is unfortunate that we have not been able to play competitively this season. The situation is such that clubs in Tier Two will always be allowed to play first and we wish Dylan well at his new club.”
A fantastic addition for Town once football resumes I’m sure.
