AFE’s Stars of the 2019/20 season: Francesco Serafino (Bangor City)

A TRICKY little player who really caught the eye for a Citizens side which finished fifth in the JD Cymru North table.

Serafino, an Italian-Argentine attacker, was one of Bangor’s main men last season as the club looked to re-build with a new-look side in place.

The 23-year-old showed plenty of promise, ability and energy and scored a total of ten goals in all competitions for the club, some of them absolutely brilliant too.

His father Domenico, an international music star, was appointed City’s president in 2019 and aimed to re-connect the community to the club following the troubles which had occurred with previous owners that led to the formation of Phoenix club Bangor 1876, who won the Gwynedd League in their debut campaign as a club.

Following a fine campaign in North Wales, former Boca Juniors youth player Francesco has now moved on to Serie C side Sambenedettese in his native Italy.
