DARREN Parry is the man who so often grabs the headlines for Llanystumdwy these days, and rightly so, as he once again finished as the club’s top scorer in all competitions come the end of 2019/20.
But there was another Stumdwy man who not far behind the former Harlech striker’s tally of 13 for the season – and that was long-serving player Mark Godfrey.
An attacking midfielder/forward who has been so pivotal for the club over the years, even for the club’s Reserves side as far back as 2009. That year, he netted a goal in the club’s 3-2 Moorings Cup final win over Machno United at Llanrug.
Godfrey was once again instrumental in the Gwynedd League last season as he hit ten goals. One of the highlights of his season came when he bagged a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Llanerchymedd in November 2019.
He’s a real physical presence within the side and a key player at Stumdwy.
