AFE’s Stars of the 2019/20 season: Iwan Williams (Gaerwen)

TOP scorer for Gaerwen last season and the first player from the club to feature in this series so far.

Gaerwen themselves enjoyed a fine season, finishing fourth in Welsh Alliance Two as the season ended early. And, had it not been for teams being ranked by Points Per Game, they would’ve finished as runners-up behind champions Y Felinheli.

And there were plenty of players who stood out for the club along the way too for a side that has now completely changed under the management of Justin Gallagher, who is keen to promote some top young talents when tier four kicks off.

In 2019/20, Iwan Williams was a real star, smashing in 11 goals in all competitions. The pacy attacker, who has also played for the likes of Llanfairpwll and Pentraeth in the past, can play central and out wide and was key to Gaerwen’s success last season.

A calm finisher, he’s now moved on to Glantraeth, who will play in the North Wales Coast West Premier (tier four) when a season kicks off in future.
