ONE of many fantastic Gwynedd League defenders to be featured in this series over the next few days.
Jones has been a rock at the back for Trearddur Bay (formerly Bryngwran) Bulls and was surely one of the first names on the team sheet each week for long-serving manager Richard Owen (who departed the club over the summer).
The 23-year-old is quick and strong in the tackle and can play comfortably in any position in the defence.
Last season, as the Bulls finished in the top four in their first season in the Gwynedd League, Jones was instrumental once more playing at centre back. The Bulls only conceded 17 goals in as many league games – meaning they had the second best defence after Bangor 1876 (who let in just 9 goals in their 16 games) and Jones was a big reason for that.
I also included him in my GL Team of the Season for 2019/20 for his efforts.
After many years with the Bulls, he’s now transferred to Gwalchmai where he will no doubt be a quality addition to the tier four side.
