A PLAYER who was quietly brilliant for the Bay in their Anglesey League title-winning campaign.
Jones was one of very few Bay players who were with the club when they dropped down to the Anglesey League in 2018/19 that remained there the season after. That was due to old players coming back to the club and the fact that then-Captain Jones remained at School Lane under new manager Darren Thomas spoke volumes.
He more than repaid his manager’s faith in him as he scored 9 goals (fourth best in the team) and assisted 19 (joint-second with Keenan Downey).
A hard-working and determined midfielder, back in May, I awarded Jones my ‘Most Improved Player of the Season’ prize for the way he continues to prove himself as a player and maintain his place in the starting eleven, despite ‘bigger’ names being in the squad. He’s a quality player.
