HAS been one of the best defenders around in the lower tiers of North Wales football for many a season now and last season once again proved that.
Jones is a towering and commanding centre back who’s very hard to beat in the air. He joined Cemaes Bay from Bro Goronwy in the summer of 2019 after spending many a successful season as captain of the former.
In fact, in his last ever match for Bro, he scored as his side beat Bryngwran (now Trearddur Bay) Bulls 3-1 to win the NWCFA Junior Cup.
That experience of leading a team to glory showed once more on the pitch for the Bay last season as Jones was, in my opinion, the best defender in the Anglesey League as his side won the title.
He added plenty of goals too, scoring nine in all competitions – making him one of the highest scoring defenders in the region.
A fantastic footballer and a top man too.
