He has been a very good friend of mine for a long time now and his knowledge of football stretches beyond just the Premier League so I’m glad to have him on board helping me out whenever he can. So, without further ado, here’s his first article for the website!” – Arron.
With the Summer transfer window quickly approaching I look at the top 10 talents around the world who could potentially make the switch this summer to what’s known worldwide as the best league in football.
Name: Andriy Yarmolenko
Club: Dynamo Kiev
League: Ukrainian Premier League
Market Value: £15-£22M
Yarmolenko is a player who has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League for a number of years now, with the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Man Utd supposedly interested in the versatile front man.
Although his season’s goal tally isn’t as impressive as recent seasons I can see Everton rekindling their interest in bringing the big Ukrainian to the Premier League.
Name: Youri Tielemans
Club: RSC Anderlecht
League: Belgian First Division
Market Value: £15-£22M
The young Belgian is held in high regard all around Europe, as his long range efforts have been enjoyed by many.
As he’s rated so highly its no surprise that he finds himself being one of the most scouted youngsters in world football, with the top teams around the world frequently sending scouts to watch the 19 year old in action.
Tielemans is another name that joins the ever growing list of highly rated youngsters to have been developed in Belgium. Just like Courtouis and De Bruyne, the central midfielder looks like he could be the next Belgian to make the step to the Premier League.
Name: Julian Brandt
Club: Bayern Leverkusen
Market Value: £20M
Julian Brandt is a name that has commonly been linked to Liverpool this season with Klopp looking to recruit the Bundesliga’s highest rated young players.
Reports recently suggest Klopp isn’t the only admirer of the young winger as Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti is also said to be keen on adding the German to his ranks.
His performances throughout the league and Champion’s league campaigns this season have shown potential suitors that he is now good enough to take the leap into playing for a an even bigger club.
Name: Andrea Belotti
League: Seria A
Market Value: £50M
Belotti is probably one of the most highly regarded strikers in the game right now, with an impressive goal scoring tally this season of 22 goals in 24 appearances. So its no surprise to hear that Champions League clubs such as Arsenal and Barcelona are closely monitoring Serie A’s leading goal scorer.
Arsenal looked as though they were going to win the signature of Torino’s star man back in January but were stunned at the £50 million asking price put up by his club. With Alexis Sanchez looking likely to exit, Arsenal will need a natural goal scorer to replace the valuable goals scored by the Chile international and Belotti could be the ideal replacement.
Position: Attacking Midfielder/Winger
League: Ligue 1
Market Value: £8-15M
At the age of 19 Malcom had already made 30 appearances for French outfit Bordeaux.
Before the recent breakthrough of Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele and Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante, clubs had seemingly been put off from signing players from Ligue 1 as they don’t really have the best record after they have moved to other leagues.
Scouted by both Manchester United and Liverpool the tricky winger looks as though he could be the next breakout star from the French division and it won’t be long before he’s on the move too.
Name: Inaki Williams
Club: Athletic Bilbao
League: La Liga
Market Value: £38M
The Bilbao born winger looks set to leave his hometown with teams ready to offer the speedy winger Champions League football, something Bilbao can’t offer the youngster.
With bags of pace and tricks at his disposal, he has proven what he can do in La Liga, being Bilbao’s main man on occasions and posing a real attacking threat to the opposition.
Scouted by the likes of Juventus, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs, it looks as though this summer will define which club shirt Williams will be wearing next season.
Name: Kasper Dolberg
Market Value: £10-20M
Dolberg looks set to be the next world class player developed by the world renowned Ajax academy and at the tender age of just 19, he is already Ajax’s leading goal scorer with 13 goals this season.
Scouted by near enough every top club, Dolberg looks set to join an elite side this summer with the young striker been highly regarded by many managers. Even Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitting to being a fan of the Danish forward. During an interview Klopp stated “Who doesn’t know Kasper Dolberg? You can not play in Ajax, without being noticed. Dolberg has a bright future, he is a fantastic player.”
Will we see him at Anfield next season? Time will tell.
Name: Edwin Cardona
Position: Attacking Midfield
League: Liga MX
Market Value: £5-15M
Colombian midfielder Cardona may be older than the rest of the players on this list, but he’s by no means any less of a player.
He looks set to be the next star to follow Javier Hernandez’s journey from Mexico to the Premier league, known for his set pieces and assists, the 6 foot attacking midfielder also has the physical attributes in order to make it in the Premier League, with his brute strength playing a key role in his playing style.
Although a move to the teams in the top four seems unlikely, Cardona has all the attributes in order to play for a team such as Stoke on a cold, rainy Tuesday night.
Name: Andre Silva
League: Primeira Liga
Market Value: £45-55M
Scoring 19 goals this season (with 4 of them coming in the Champion’s League), Silva looks like the next star who is all set to leave Portuguese giants Porto, following in the footsteps of Hulk, James Rordriguez and Falcao.
Natural goal scorers are like gold dust in today’s game, but it seems as though Silva has everything to be just that.
Scoring in the Champion’s League is one sure fire way for a player to gain global recognition and Silva has done just that, with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United watching closely.
However, the one key thing that the La Liga giants may have over United is the fact that Silva’s fellow compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo has spoke publicly of his desire for Real to sign the young striker.
Name: Cristian Pavon
Club: Boca Juniors
League: Primera Division
Market Value: £5-15M
Although Pavon isn’t as recognisable as others on this list, with 10 goals in 22 apps from the wing, the Argentinian has managed to catch the eye of Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
There were suggestions that the reds would bid for the Argentine in January but a transfer did not follow through. However, Liverpool could look at the versatile forward again in the summer as they look to bolster their squad in what looks like being a very busy transfer window for the club.
